fun fact:

She worked for the textile designers Phyllis Barron and Dorothy Larcher in the 1930s. 

During WWII, she wrote and illustrated children's books -- Bulgly the Barrage Balloon and Pigeon Ace to name a few.

In 1965 she became Head of Department of Dress, Textiles and Ceramics at Croydon College of Art in London.
