ndebele tribe

"The Ndebele pattern is a brightly colored motif traditionally painted on houses as a form of coded communication between the South African Ndebele people. Created during times of war and strife, the pattern still functions as a visual language and is only painted by women. A Ndebele house mural might announce a wedding, ward off an evil spirit or spread some juicy gossip.

Esther Mahlangu, a Ndebele artist, was commissioned by BMW in 1991 to customize this 525i."
