Vera, Vera on the Wall

Vera Neumann was a textile designer who was known primarily for her hand-painted silk scarves. During WWII, the fabric supply was less than ideal and while Vera was searching for fabrics, she came across parachute silks at an army surplus store. Her silk scarf idea was born. Bold and colorful, Vera's artistic style added cheeriness to home goods and fashion. (ps. a book was published this year about her life's work. hello, stocking stuffer.)

(pretty pillowcases too)
