Animal Costumes

They did not mess around in the olden days. The Parrot costume above is amazing. Happy Halloween!

The go to "throw it together" costume of choice is most definitely the "Hobo." Very aprops considering the current economic climate. The striped tipi/lean-to in the background is quite nice. Wish I had one of those!

Costume Ideas

Halloween will be here soon. Do you have your costume yet? Ebony and Ivory above are genius!

Jeans of the Old West: A History

Just picked up the book "Jeans of the Old West: A History." Have not had a chance to read it yet, but the images are amazing. Lots of great details. I will be posting images from the book all week.

Chatting during appointments, one of our clients told us about the photo blog "Shorpy." You may have heard of it already, but it was new to us. It is a historic photo archive. It is nice because the images are pretty hi res. You can pick up lots of great details from the photos. These are from the early 1900's in the section "pretty girls." Love all these stripes. The fit of that t-shirt above looks so current.

Dancin' Shoes

Took a bit of break from posting due to our hectic traveling schedule. We are home now and trying to get everything back in order. Found these photos on my phone. The snaps of these vintage shoes were taken at an antique mall somewhere in the Midwest. Love the cut outs. Sorry for the low qual pics. The i-phone and low lighting does not work so well. Maybe because my phone is ancient. It might be time to upgrade to the one with the flash!

Not sure where we stopped, but it was somewhere between Indianapolis and the Wisconsin border. We saw the sign, pulled off and travelled 4 miles down the road to the middle of cornfields. There it was a little antique mall all by it's lonesome. We picked up a few things for the collection and I snapped a few photos. Here are a few things we left behind.

Farnsworth House

While Brian and I were in Chicago we purchased a vacation home. Just kidding! We visited the Farnsworth House, Mies Van Der Rohe's glass masterpiece. It was quite amazing!
