Haute Gypsy

The was also a rich bohemian look gracing the runways. Looks like some inspiration was taken from the ladies caravanning with the Stones in the late 60's early 70's. More of an uptown, eclectic, ethnic, vintage, gypsy look. Rich colors, patterns and textures with velvet fabrications and print/fabric mixing key.

Mad (Wo)Men

Quite a few designers took inspiration from the lat 50's early 60's a la the ladies of "Mad Men." We can't wait for the new season to start up! Check out the perfect ponytails on the Louis Vuitton ladies.

For the next week or so I will be posting mood boards I put together for Fall/Winter 2011. This 1st one is called "Thirtysomething." Designers for F/W and Resort are showing 30's floral frocks. Prada's Resort line was quite representative of this decade. I always loved the bias cuts, ruffles and printed cottons of this era. Below is a 30's/40's dress from our collection. To see more, check out the "preview" section on our website.

Cut Paper Sweetness

These are the last of the pictures from our Scandinavian trip. I believe these are some kind of antique Swedish marriage announcement or license. I could be making that up, but from my recollection I think it has something to do with marriage. Anyhow, they are amazingly sweet.

We saw about a trillion pieces of art on our trip and I know there was no way I was going to remember most of the artists names of the photos we took. I just resigned myself to that fact and did not even bother to try. This painting though stopped me in my tracks. It is by Dorothea Tanning. It is one of those paintings that is magical in person, just made you kinda feel dreamy, or maybe it was the jet lag. Anyway, it was quite striking. Not sure who is responsible for the below painting, liked it's dreamy feel as well.
