Beni Ouarain

These are antique Beni Ouarain Berber Carpets. The Beni Ouarain are a confederacy of 17 Berber Tribes. You can read more about them here. I like how simple and graphic these are.

Moroccan Kilms

This week I thought I would continue with the Moroccan theme, but switch to Kilms. Love the graphic stripes mixed with the ethnic motifs.

Military Bags

After spotting the "Missile Container Cover" bag thought I would search for some more military bag inspiration. Here are some images from some pieces that are up for auction on Ebay right now. This hand markered version from the late Vietnam is quite interesting.

Rose Bowl Snaps

Here are a few pictures I snapped while we were at the Rose Bowl this weekend. Everyone needs a Missile Cover Container right? Ok maybe we don't need one of those, but the placement/spacing of the washed out black stencil on the olive drab canvas was quite nice, as well as the accent of the natural drawstring. Below is an interesting floral that was hanging around. I was going to go back and pick this one up for the collection, but forgot about it. My brian was frozen, it was down right chilly there on Sunday. I thought this was supposed to be Spring and California. Brian was not layered up enough, so he ended up picking up an electric blue down vest to keep him warm.

Rainbow Eucalyptus

Saw a post on COLOURlovers about Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees. We have some ancient Eucalyptus trees in our back yard, but not of this colorful variety. These would be great inspiration for a camo pattern.
